What do we need?
To prepare the syrup, you will need to gather light green pine needles. Determine their amount on your own, depending on the size of the jar you want to prepare. Besides the pine needles, you will need a jar of fresh homemade honey.
How to prepare it?
At first, wash the needles well, and then put them in a clean towel to dry. The best is to leave them in the cloth to soak for about 24 hours and then start the preparation. Take a glass jar and start to stack, one row of pine needles, and a thin layer of honey on the top, then again, a row of needles and a row of honey on top and so repeating until you reach 3- 4cm to the top of the jar. The last row should finish with a thin layer of honey. Afterwards, close the jar well and place it on a warm place. The mixture is necessary to stay in 40 days in the jar, while it should be well shaken daily. After the 40th day, open the jar and strain the mixture. We have made a healthy pine needles syrup which needs to be kept in the refrigerator, since it has short expiration date. You can use the syrup so that you will take a few teaspoons a day, at specific time intervals.
This recipe is also known as being prepared with white sugar, added instead of the honey, and thus it has longer duration. However, a large amount of sugar is not healthy for the body, so we advise you to use honey, as indicated in the recipe above.
