The main ingredient in this organic and delicious cake is avocado. This fruit actually replaces the butter because of its rich and soft consistency.

Avocado the Nutritional Powerhouse

Avocado is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. It is packed with folate that can repair your cells and lutein that can improve your eye health. Due to the good fats it contains, avocado is the perfect choice for a ketogenic diet.

Avocados are usually used to treat osteoarthritis and lower cholesterol. It has been proven that they possess potent cancer-fighting properties. Therefore, adding avocados to your cake is undoubtedly the easiest and tastiest way to obtain all the benefits this fruit has.

Avocado goes well with all the ingredients included in the cake. You should use honey or maple syrup to sweeten this cake, instead of white sugar. Don’t hesitate to try it!

Needed Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe organic avocado, mashed until smooth
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ cup coconut or avocado oil
  • 3 cups coconut flour
  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 5 tablespoons dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 3 tablespoons of maple syrup (or to your desired taste)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar (or squeezed lemon juice)

For The Frosting

  • 2 ripe organic avocados, mashed until smooth
  • 5 tablespoons dark chocolate cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons of maple syrup

Whisk all the ingredients until smooth

Directions

You should preheat the oven to 350F. Grease and (coconut) flour two 9” round cake pans. In a large bowl, whisk the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk the avocado oil, vanilla extract, vinegar, avocado, and water. Once they are combined, you should add the maple syrup. Then, pour this mixture into the first (flour) mixture and make sure to stir well.

Next, you should pour equal parts of the mixture in the two cake pans and bake for 30 minutes. Let the cakes cool in the pans then you can take them out and leave them to cool for another 15 minutes. Add a frosting layer on the first cake layer then top the second one. You should pour the remaining frosting to the top of the entire cake. That is it! Enjoy your healthy and extremely delicious chocolate cake!
